Histoire de l'art par les monuments, manuscript : with related correspondence, ca. 1807-ca. 1816.

Collection consists of two manuscript volumes and one volume of engravings and drawings for Seroux d'Agincourt's history of architecture and art in the Middle Ages, with a volume of ca. 127 letters and documents sent between the author, his editors and publisher. The letters concern publication of the work, and the decision to deposit the original manuscripts in the Vatican Library. Included also is a small file of papers regarding the sale of the volumes in the early 1900s. With the volume of engravings and drawings is included 16 pages of handwritten text. The work was eventually published in 24 parts between 1810 and 1823 by Treutttel & Würtz.
